Getting ready for the Bridport Hat Festival

The 2012 Bridport Hat Festival bridporthatfest is looming - less than a week to go now & I am still dithering about which hat to wear.

I recently went to visit the Hatter, who are family, to catch up & do some photos ahead of the festival.

They are always grateful to a committee of people who help with the mammoth task of preparing for the event - the traders, music functions, street & indoor events all over town & this year the committee is small & so the responsibilities are huge.

We offer our amateur photography experience to them for promotions & advertising so went along to record a hat talk while down too ....

We also enjoyed a hat talk in the lovely Bull Hotel - all hats supplied by T. Snook & worn by lovely volunteers for the Spirit of Bridport .

Then it was time to enjoy the lovely Venners Bar at thebullhotel.  The bar is named after Colonel Samuel Venner who took a bullet at  The Bull during the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685. The barman is a total wizz at creating cocktails & luckily it was a short walk back ....

 Fabulous time - I now have to get my hat organised for the event ... watch this space ....
