A favourite has to be the gentle aroma from pomanders - clove studded oranges which give off a hint of citrus & spice. We made them as a family one evening & they are all different & original - perfectly relaxing activity.
Instead of hanging mine, I have kept them in the conservatory in vintage silver goblets which offset their colour so well. The coolness of the conservatory preserves them perfectly too.
They complement the bowl of paperwhite bulbs which are getting ready to flower for Christmas - welcome colour & scents
If you are tempted to make your own, head out & buy some oranges (these are just the supermarket basic ones), some cloves (whole ones in the baking or spice aisle) and then decide on a pattern for the cloves. We used a kebab skewer to make the holes so we didn't break too many cloves & we could plan some of the patterns ...
You can make them to hang on a tree by looping ribbon around the pomander but we liked them on display. Whatever you decide - make some to enjoy the aroma.
Thanks for stopping by, have a good week everyone,

A great idea Dee! I don't like artificial scents so that's perfect. Thank you

These would be perfect then Marina - a gentle hint of orange & spice. I hope you make some too.
