Vintage Blue & White transfer ware

I hope you have been enjoying the posts on my various blue & white transfer crockery.

I have left the oldest & most traditional for last because most of it is just good for display as some are quite fragile & with damage.

There is no pattern that is more recognisable then the ever popular Blue Willow design & its variations that remain so popular.

Vintage Spode designs …

The blues are pretty but …. they lack some colour … back to browsing the house for something …

A mixture of old & new candelabra's as well as various shades of candles are always in demand & are at hand when needed … 

Some vintage Victorian cranberry glass adds a hint of colour …

Some pink hyacinths echo the colour of the cranberry glass …

Much better

A few more changes - adding favourite vintage sherry glasses instead of the ceramic balls …

 Some favourite blue items make a pleasing vignette …

Changes - mmmm which do I prefer more? Help ….

Time honoured vintage blue & white wares which are lovely to look at even if they are too fragile to use. They are a reminder of the importance that our potteries have had to lives over the last centuries & that are sometimes passed on still, to enjoy & admire.

We no longer value items & collections as we should - few collect sets of crockery & it is our loss …

Many modern designs are worth considering - for-the-love-of-blue-white-contemporary-klerkenwell-dishes is one such that has caught my eye - definitely something I would love to own to just jazz up my traditional sets …

Do you  see history in such family items or are they a relic of the past?
