Hello December, hello Winter

Winter has suddenly arrived in our Shire with frosts & temperatures that are barely above freezing this week.

A faded rose is completely iced over in the garden

Leaves that are crisp & white lie on the lawn

I love the crispness of everything, shapes well defined by the cold

Our topiaries glistening in the morning light ...

It is time to fill the advent calendars that hang by our inglenook fireplace & to acknowledge that the countdown to Christmas has begun
