Festive baking with little hands ...

Amongst the festive features at home, this always appears in the kitchen.

Cookie cutters make such a beautiful display on the kitchen windowsill with their pretty colours, shapes & sizes.

The footed trifle bowl is perfect for keeping the cutters together & the little windowsill lights at night give it all a welcoming glow.

That cookery book is one I refer to often over Christmas - it has the most delightful recipes & images.

This is little scene reminds me to schedule in some baking time ...

My followers know of my love of baking with the younger generations, passing on valuable skills & hopefully a love of baking & cooking & the confidence to have a go & enjoy it.

I have had the festive cookie cutters out on the window to remind me to fit in some baking.

This was some of the traditional baking with the godsons over the years ...

The little ones have done some festive baking with me in the run up to Christmas in previous years & I was delighted that they were keen to do some again this year.

I admit to buying in the prepared gingerbread dough from Aldi this year.

I was going to make chocolate gingerbread dough but the two little prepared packets were brilliant because it cut down on the prep needed & we could get right down to it.

The large silicone baking sheets are excellent to work on.

The festive cookie cutters are always enjoyed & the dough rolled really well & soon there was 2 full baking sheets of shapes ready for the oven.

The springerle  embossed rolling pins once again were very effective at leaving an imprint on the dough.

Once cool, they were decorated with icing tubes & festive sprinkles  & a good one was chosen by each to be put on the Santa treat plate.

It is such a great time baking together, the joy of passing on skills is so valuable.

I hope you found time for baking too.

Thank you for stopping by, it is appreciated.
