So much gorgeous fabrics inspiration & choice ...

I am so pleased to find so many lovely comments & feedback on the Gentlework posts that I will show you the fantastic choice of vintage threads, buttons, beads, lace, fabrics & bits we had to make our items from.

All the photos shown here were taken with my Canon 5D mkII with a 24-105 lens so please ask if you wish to use them. I love the shallow depth of focus of the 24-105 lens - a perfect choice for the day ...

The fabulous workroom at Rustic & White - such beautiful things everywhere brought in by Gentlework's Christine.

Beautiful colours of the threads in a papier mache box ...

Rustic & White's Jo made some stunning pin cushions for the group table

Beautiful vintage colours & textures across the table

Vintage tins with interesting vintage lace cloths & edging

Inspiration for hand stitching

A teacup pin cushion in lovely vintage fabric

A covered box with fabrics from old quilts

These are some of the lovely fabrics I  selected for my panel

Beautiful vintage quilting fabric - the muted colours are the essence of Gentlework

Beautiful buttons & lace in a vintage carrier

Perfectly framed under a glass cloche

A vintage typewriter that we used to do our printed scripts & texts - the concentration in the room was regularly punctuated with the familiar tapping of someone typing …

An assortment of lace & trimmings in a vintage basket

I remember a time when all cottons came on wooden reels ...

Doilies, vintage buttons, thread & fabrics to use - we were spoilt for choice

So very tactile & soft - old fabrics have a real charm  ...

So much choice in fastenings ...

lots of beautiful buttons to use ...

Some pin cushions made by Jo for the tables …

How can you not be inspired by this choice?

I recently made some needle books - these two caught my eye through the camera lens - serious needlebook envy on my part ...

Do you have any favourite images?

Thanks for stopping by, the final 10 items will be revealed tomorrow so stop back if you would like to see the very different things we all made from the same choices.

  2. Hello D!
That was definitely the right choice of lens for your Canon - I had only my small Lumix this time but haven't had time yet to download and see through the pictures. But will do a blog about our great day soon.
I absolutely love the pictures you have posted so far and enjoyed so much going through them and re-live the moment again. Sheer bliss!
