This was the First Sunday of Advent is spiritual for me
The Second Sunday of Advent focused on peace & hope
This Third Sunday of Advent is known as Gaudete Sunday or 'Joyful spirit / time'. For us it will be about extended family & friends meeting before Christmas as we can't all be together.
The traditional colour for this Sunday is a 'rose' coloured candle so that is the colour of candles we will have too.
We are having a full house with our daughters, their partners & extended family to stay for the weekend, along with the two dogs - a very welcome family weekend.
A family meal cooked by A Wondering Star daughter & her partner while we catch up with each others news.
What could be nicer on this Third Advent Sunday than joyful times together with a freshly baked Victoria Sponge on the sideboard for tea & a lovely meal cooked by the family?

Hi Dee! What a beautiful table you set! It sounds so wonderful to have family all able to gather together especially at this time of year! Mine is scattered far and wide so I usually spend the holidays with my rescue cats and we have a lovely time! Yesterday I gave a talk in church on "Keeping Christ in Christmas" and it went very well so I was happy as I am not always comfortable being the speaker! I hope you and your family have a lovely Christmas and please do post more photos of your festivities!

Thank you Tina - how special is it that you could bring the real Christmas message to your local church. I think we all have a responsibility to keep 'Christ in Christmas' by not giving in to the excessive commercial trend which threatens to drown out the message of family time.
